In a world where we all use our phones to tell the time, watches have become decorative accessories but as there are such stylish timepieces out there I am totally fine with that! Everyone should have a classic watch in their accessories collection. As I’ve mentioned previously, I have recently been making an effort to buy less fast fashion and work more with pieces I already have in my wardrobe. Strong accessories like a good watch or statement earrings can spice up even the simplest of looks. A smart watch can instantly lend a more polished look to any outfit and, aside from the obvious functional aspect, a good watch is a subtle way of making a style statement. It’s a way of telling the world you have places to be!
I had never thought of wearing a wooden watch until I discovered Jord Watches. To be honest, I didn’t think it was even possible to craft a beautiful watch from wood! Jord handcrafts natural luxury wooden watches from a variety of different woods from ash to sandalwood and their aesthetic is designed to fit with the modern lifestyle. An aesthetic that very much reflects my own personal style.

I am becoming more and more aware of the origins of my fashion so a sustainable and ethical brand like Jord really aligns with my efforts to be a more conscious consumer.
The timepiece I chose is the Frankie Dark Sandalwood & Slate watch. Grey is one of my favourite neutrals and I love the rose gold accents on the watch face, while sandalwood is one of my favourite types of wood. I love the dark and slightly masculine look of the sandalwood and how it contrasts with the femininity of the rose gold detailing. I personally prefer boyfriend style timepieces and adore the minimalistic and uncomplicated face on this watch. An added bonus is this piece is ultra lightweight and streamlined; a must for someone with super slim wrists like me!
