Return of the Mac

So now that the title’s got you singing the 90’s Mark Morrison classic, let’s talk about the classic trench. Much like florals, there’s nothing too groundbreaking about mac’s for Spring but for me it’s one of those unsung wardrobe heroes I find myself reaching for year after year!

Trenchcoats are the perfect transitional piece and are ideal for this time of year when there’s still a nip in the air and the occasional (!) shower about. When it’s not quite warm enough to go without a coat but you just can’t face the sight of your winter coat any longer, the mac should be your go-to.

I personally like oversize, longer line styles in classic tans that almost border on robe territory (channeling my inner Inspector Columbo!). However, the classic mac is constantly being re-imagined so there are endless variations out there from structured and slouchy to colour blocked and checked.

The classic mac looks great styled for both work wear and off duty days, making a versatile wardrobe staple. My personal favourite way to style my trench coat is with cropped straight leg jeans, a tee and kitten heels, loafers or trainers.

Apologies for the radio silence over here! I started this post before I took my unexpected hiatus from blogging and am only getting back around to it now. Thank you for sticking around and for supporting my blog! I am planning on getting back in to a regular routine of posting with a schedule of fresh new content for you!

In the meantime, I’ve chosen my edit of the best trench coats available right now.  Scroll down for my top picks! As always you can shop the items directly by clicking on the images.
